I've discovered this spot a couple years ago by a friends' recommendation and it's since been a regular breakfast/brunch place for me whenever I'm in the bay. I currently love their seasonal eggnog mochi donut and eggnog matcha latte, the spiced flavors of both are tasty yet not overpowering and makes for a nice sweet treat in the morning. They always have a good selection of bakes, and the banana pecan bread pudding is decent as well though not the best I've had. My go-to order will usually be the breakfast Sammie with sunny side up eggs and avocado or the shroom-egg toast. They make for a very filling meal, and I especially like the sauce and use of greens with the perfectly scrambled egg on the toast. The avocado citrus goat cheese toastini is also decent, and I did not expect to like the pairing as much as I did. It does get pricey for a breakfast meal though it's definitely a good local spot for breakfast that is worth every penny. It gets pretty busy the closer it gets to the weekends, and there's always consistently a good amount of people throughout the day. The atmosphere is lively with people working on different things on different tables, and it makes for a comfortable third place. You walk in, order at the counter and find an open seat with a number sign that the servers bring your food to. I highly recommend checking this place out at least once.
The Press is so good! Its a solid choice for brunch/lunch. It may seem pricey but its high quality and huge portions - very shareable. You can definitely rotate between sammie (cold sandwich) and paninis (hot sandwich) and salad or soup and never be bored. On the most recent trip we shared a sandwich (4 half pieces per order) and the beets salad ***** yum!
Came here for a lil brunch date with me and my bestie!! I absolutely love it here, perfect breakfast spot!! I usually come here with my bby but it was a girls day out! When we walked in you can see the line out the door. So many ppl, that's when you know it's a good spot to grub. The lady at the front where you place your order and you pay for your meal at that exact moment. The cashier was absolutely amazing. She had great customer service answered any questions we had. I ordered the breakfast Sammie sandwich with bacon and my best friend ordered avocado toast with goat cheese. She swears by it and says that it's so good! Of course she had to add an extra over easy egg to her toast. That girl love her eggs lol. I ordered hot chocolate because I remember it was so delicious the last time I got it sadly it didn't come with whipped cream, but it didn't really need it. My best friend got the Matcha latte with almond milk, of course. We were lucky to find seating and there was free complementary water, self served. I absolutely love the atmosphere here and the little patio on the back but it was a bit too cold for me to sit outside so I wanted to sit inside. We didn't wait too long and we got our food. My food was A1, I got full with half of my sandwich and I had to take the rest to go. My best friend she devoured her food absolutely loved it, said it was just the perfect amount of food. Not to mention the drinks, I absolutely loved my hot chocolate. It was perfect. I had it with oat milk and it was not too sugary, which was a plus. My friend absolutely loved her Matcha latte with almond milk. I absolutely love their pastries and highly recommend to get one for the road. Definitely a spot where you could bring your loved one or a close friend or a small group of friends to catch up and have a delicious food!!
The Press in Pleasanton is a charming spot with a welcoming atmosphere, ideal for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. I tried the avocado and egg toast, which was beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients. However, it fell a bit flat in the flavor department--it could have used a touch more seasoning or an extra element to elevate the taste. Overall, it's a pleasant place to grab a bite, but the dish left me wanting a little more zest to match the café's otherwise vibrant vibe. A solid option if you're in the area, but there's room for some improvement!
I remember having fond memories of The Press from when I visited when younger, but it had been so long I don't remember too well. I decided to come back after a Black Friday shopping sesh and this did NOT disappoint. It's quaint and service is pretty good. FAVORITE ITEMS: - TURKEY PESTO: nice pesto with cheese flavor, perfect if you love a savory sandwich. - TURKEY CRANBERRY: nice sweet/savory blend. - TOMATO SOUP: creamy, flavorful, savory. If you like tomato basil soup, this is definitely for you. ** fyi you can do half/half to try different sandwich flavors, which I think is so awesome. the sandwiches at first look small but they are deceivingly filling PARKING: good amount of parking in the lot PRICE: the sandwich set was around $16 which is definitely a good deal given how tasty/filling it is. Overall, I will recommend this spot for sure if anyone ever asks what is good around here. Definitely would come back!
I don't give many (any?) five star reviews but this place is the best! All around great coffee, service, food and ambiance. This cozy cafe has a great system with one entrance, and a sign kindly reminding customers to order before being seated. Even though this place gets busy, I haven't had a problem finding a spot (though admittedly I've never come with more than 1-2 people, a big group could be harder here; there are two large, communal tables that can seat 10). I've visited all throughout the year, and they have delicious specials using seasonal ingredients - in addition to a reliably good standard menu. Recent favorites: "Pearfect" oatmeal & pumpkin mochi pancakes (so moist and fluffy!) Note: there is a brunch on Saturday, so some items may not be available on weekdays. Also note, as of this writing they are closed Sundays! This place is a GREAT option when you want to go out for brunch, but don't want anything too heavy, or want some healthy options. Also great if you want a cafe that has more than just pastries (though their pastries are great, too!) Lucky to have this gem in the East Bay!
My regular "when I'm in the area" place wasn't an option today, so I had to find something else near by. I'm so glad this happened to me! I really enjoyed my visit! I ordered the Spiced Pear Steel Oats and a cappuccino. The Spiced Pear Steel Oats were a revelation. I know this sounds dramatic, but I'm serious. Big, beautiful baked pear in the middle of the bowl, surrounded by pomegranate seeds, fresh cranberries, toasted coconut, pecans, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and some pure maple syrup. What!? Like the breakfast of a billionaire, ha, ha... and can be had by a peasant like me. Life's good. Top this off by super service. Very kind, friendly, and helpful. Get this - this is an order at the counter, take a number to the table type of place; I chose to sit outside. Towards the end of my meal, a woman who I assume was the owner, popped outside to see how everyone was doing. We had a short chat about the seasonal pear steel cuts oats. I'm not used to that level of customer care at such places.
We went to Press cafe for lunch a week ago for the first time and it was packed for a Thursday lunch time. The parking lot was almost full and we could barely find a spot. The restaurant was really busy too so good thing we got there before noon. The restaurant is really cute with wonderful warm ambiance. The Insides have a cute cafe vibe where folks can sip coffee and read a book or use their laptops. There are several tables outside too which is great for people watching and great to sit at if the weather is nice. We ordered a cafe latte and a Turkey avocado pesto sandwich with butternut squash soup. The latte was good and strong and nice flavor. The sandwich was amazing and possibly one of the best Turkey avocados sandwiches i've ever had. The pesto tasted homemade and had strong basil and garlic flavor. Pesto was amazing. The tomatoes were delicious and juicy and sweet. The entire sandwich flavors came together amazing. I don't really rave about sandwiches but this one is worth the rave. The butternut squash soup was okay but could have more flavor. overall great little cafe and loved the food and the vibes. I would definitely come back soon!
